about

A hi-res 24 bit 96k edition of a brand new song written by Heather Findlay from her forthcoming album Wildflower.

A song inspired by a heartfelt hope and vision that, aided by the work of great Masters, Yogis, Sadhus, Peacekeepers, Lovers and Meditators, right through to those who purely wish for it, we will one day have World Peace.

"For as long as I can remember World Peace is something I have always wished for. As I have grown older, I now realise that it begins within us. It is not the result of some outer happening, but something that occurs inside us and that filters out into our environment.

Whether it is through simply slowing down and spending more time in nature, or by practicing mindfulness, meditation, or simply taking time out to breathe more deeply and to smile, we can each do our little bit.

We can even send love to our perceived enemies... just by the power of our imagination!

Of course, this takes a bit of practice, but it is possible. And when we do, it changes everything.

I found myself writing this song in the middle of a personal conflict earlier this year, where despite the challenge I knew I would meet in doing so, I had to stand up for myself.

All the while, even though needing to access within me a more assertive side of my personality, what I noticed is that what I felt throughout was actually a lot of love.

For me, I believe this has been possible through my Kriya Yoga practice and through slowly learning to let go.

In India, there is a tradition of laying troubles at the Divine Lotus feet of the Guru (one's highest teacher, or enlightened being/Master), or to Spirit/God/Goddess. In this song I talk about this a little towards the end.

As for World Peace, I firmly believe that one day we will get there. As my SatGuru, Yogiraj Siddhanath teaches, Earth Peace is attainable through Self Peace.

In the midst of said challenges, I found myself sitting down at the piano one day and this song waiting to come out. The chorus had originally been the refrain 'Somehere we can call home...'. Which of course IS that space within, and when we find it, is exactly how it feels. This evolved through singing and playing the song, to be simply Om, which means the Universe and the ultimate reality, or consciousness itself.

For practitioners of Yoga, that space within us is symbolised for some by the Guru and for others is represented by such as the Om symbol pictured on the cover art for this song.

Recently discovered by NASA, it is also said to be the sound omitted constantly by the Sun.

If we cover our ears, we can also hear it softly intoned within...

I always find the songwriting process mind boggling and although I'm technically at the wheel, I often wonder who is actually driving!!

I sincerely wish that through practice, gentle surrender to this Universal place which resides within all of us again and again, will one day lead us to that open space, together.

I hope you enjoy the song

With love,

Heather"
